Dielectric Two-Component Sealant for Leak Repair Check Seal™ 20AB

logo-socoCheck Seal™ 20AB is a two-component, rubber-type sealant, developed for the electrical industry. It is usually applied for leak repair in transformers. The sealant is available in both fast and slow cure formulas delivered in a two-part, pre-measured kit for easy application. Both components are mixed then applied with a high pressure lubricator or sealing gun. The Check Seal™ 20AB can be used to seal flange gaskets, valve stems, drain plugs and couplings. It can also be used in conjunction with clamps or sleeves.

The sealant is used to seal and encapsulate heating elements in appliances, aerospace gasketing, industrial ovens and other bonding/sealing where parts must perform at temperatures below +121°C

Applications : transformer oils, fuels, hot oils, refrigerants, alcohols, chemicals and solvents
The exact scope of sealant´s application suitability refer to compatibility chart.
Temperature range : from -6°C to +121°C
Limitations : Don´t use at temperatures exceeding +121°C; Do not use on oxygen services.
Appearance : off-white resin paste with dark catalyst
Injection characteristics : it flows well at a filling pressure of 34.5 bar; flows well with high pressure applicator; may be poured directly into the place
Cure : semi-hard rubber with low adhesion (it is removable); available in fast and slow curing variations (temperature dependent)
Long term changes : no long term changes during operation
Storage : in a dry place at temperature below +21°C
Shelf life : 2 years
Packing : kits by volume

The sealant is suitable only for industrial use by trained personnel according to the local regulations and employer requirements. Always read the Safety Data Sheet (SDS), technical data sheet and warranty conditions before use. For information on the chemicals and conditions regarding health and safety during handling, storage, use and disposal, refer to the relevant SDS supplied with the material, or available upon request.

The application suitability of the material use for a particular chemical composition of the medium is given in the compatibility chart eventually in chemical resistance tables for respective material. Chemical resistance (compatibility chart) tables are available upon request or as online version at our website (tables).

Some chemical additives contained in steam or boiler feed water may prevent curing of the sealant.
