Check Seal™ 6B is a pumpable valve packing intended for sealing of valves, designed for applications at high temperatures up to +427°C. The sealant ia also available in high purity grade for nuclear power plants and turbines.
Applications : glycols, hydrocarbons, water, steam, boiler feed water and many other solvents - good general purpose valve packing

Temperature range : from +4°C to +371°C
Limitations : Don´t use at temperatures exceeding +426°C; Do not use on oxygen services.
Appearance : black fibrous stick
Penetration (ASTM D217) : 80-130
Specific gravity : 1,4
Injection characteristics : flows well at filling pressure of 62 bar; flows well at even minimum hydraulic pressure (dependent upon temperature)
Cure : slightly cures at higher temperatures, does not cure at lower temperatures
Long term changes : Depending on pressure and temperature, some loss of carrier may appear, which may require re-injection of the sealant.
Storage : in a dry place at temperature below +21°C
Shelf life : 2 years
Packing : 3.5cm x 21.6cm J sticks or 1.9cm x 10.1cm plugs
The sealant is suitable only for industrial use by trained personnel according to the local regulations and employer requirements. Some chemical additives contained in steam or boiler feed water may prevent curing of the sealant.
