Check SealTM 8AB is a two-component sealant that cures to an elastomeric plastic consistency and is suitable for extreme shocks due to its resistance. It is recommended for applications with cyclical or vibration (shock) loads. It is mainly used to seal leaks on media such as fuels, glycols, mild alkalis, aliphatic hydrocarbons, hot oils, kerosene, steam, water, alcohol, transformer oil and sulfur hexafluoride (SF6 gas).
Applications : transformer oil, sulfur hexafluoride (SF6 gas), fuels, hot oil, water and steam
CAUTION: Some additives in the steam and boiler feed water can kill the cure.
The exact scope of sealant´s application suitability refer to compatibility chart.
Temperature range : from -6°C to +232°C
Limitations : Don´t use at temperatures exceeding +232°C; Do not use on oxygen services.
Appearance : white and blue pastes
Injection characteristics : flows well at filling pressure of 34,5 bar; flows well at even minimum hydraulic pressure (dependent upon temperature)
Cure : hard elastomeric (rubber) sealant, the curing rate depends on temperature; begins to cure at + 10°C
Long term changes : no long term changes during operation
Storage : in a dry place at temperature below +21°C
Shelf life : 2 years
Packing : kits according to volume of A and B components
The sealant is suitable only for industrial use by trained personnel according to the local regulations and employer requirements. Always read the Safety Data Sheet (SDS), technical data sheet and warranty conditions before use. For information on the chemicals and conditions regarding health and safety during handling, storage, use and disposal, refer to the relevant SDS supplied with the material, or available upon request.
The application suitability of the material use for a particular chemical composition of the medium is given in the compatibility chart eventually in chemical resistance tables for respective material. Chemical resistance (compatibility chart) tables are available upon request or as online version at our website (tables).
Some chemical additives contained in steam or boiler feed water may prevent curing of the sealant.
