Check Seal™ 3B is a sealant applied to leaks in the form of a semi-pliable rubber that cures to an extremely hard rubber at high temperature. It is designed for applications at temperatures up to +371°C and is effective as primary and secondary sealant. Upon failure of the primary sealant, it is used successfully as a secondary sealant for packing of the micropores and thereby to seal the leak. It has an excelent resistance to acids, hot oils and chemicals services.
Applications : acids, steam, some solvents, fuels, glycols, mild alkalis, aliphatic hydrocarbons, hot oils, kerosene, steam, water, liquors. It also has been used successfully as a secondary micro-void filler after injecting a different sealant on the real problem leaks.

Temperature range : from -6°C to +371°C
Limitations : should not be used for temperatures exceeding +371°C. Do not use on oxygen services.
Appearance : yellow paste
Specific gravity : 0,9
Injection characteristics : flows well at filling pressure of 34.5 bar; flows well at even minimum hydraulic pressure (dependent upon temperature)
Cures : cures at temperature from + 177°C to + 204°C, at temperatures below + 177°C does not cure
Long term changes : no long term changes during operation
Storage : in a dry place at temperature below +21°C
Shelf life : 2 years
Packing : 3.5 cm x 21.6 cm J sticks or 1.9 cm x 10.1 cm plugs
The sealant is suitable only for industrial use by trained personnel according to the local regulations and employer requirements. Some chemical additives contained in steam or boiler feed water may prevent curing of the sealant.
