Check Seal™ HTS Pak is a heavily fibrous sealant designed to seal valves, valves packing and valve bonnets at temperatures up to +371°C. HTS PAK works great for a wide variety of leaks with its fibrous characteristics, such as leaking valve seats, this sealing is accomplished without affecting valve operation. Other uses include steam valve packings, steam union leaks, steam wire wraps and steam valve bonnets.
Applications : aliphatic hydrocarbons, asphalt, hot oil, steam and geothermal water; good general use for sealing valves

Temperature range : from -6°C to +371°C
Limitations : do not use above +371°C; Do not use on oxygen services.
Appearance : dark gray fiborous sticks
Penetration (ASTM D217) : 70-80
Injection characteristics : it flows well at a filling pressure of 34.5 bar; flows well with minimum hydraulic pressure;
Cure : slight cure at higher temperatures
Long-term changes : some loss of carrier with pressure and temperature; reinjection may be required
Storage : in a dry place at room temperature
Shelf life : 2 years
Packaging : 3.5cm x 21.6cm J sticks or 1.9cm x 10.1cm plugs
The sealant is suitable only for industrial use by trained personnel according to the local regulations and employer requirements. The application suitability of the material use for a particular chemical composition of the medium is given in the compatibility chart eventually in chemical resistance tables for respective material. Some chemical additives contained in steam or boiler feed water may prevent curing of the sealant.
